The title of this article paraphrases the title of the new book we have published: WOULD MACEDONIA HAVE LOOKED DIFFERENT IF SOME OF THE CHAMBER’S PROPOSALS HAD BEEN ACCEPTED?
You may ask yourselves: Why this book, and why now? We, too, arrived at the idea for the book at a moment when we asked ourselves the same questions.
How long can things continue in this way? How long will all of this last?
How long will we keep asking the same questions? How long will we keep receiving the same answers?
And that is where we began to reflect seriously. Our reflections were structured around the following thoughts:
1. Can a person achieve everything they desire? – NO.
3. Can a person refuse to acknowledge their mistakes? – YES.
We are that kind of people—we accept reality, and that is what makes us different from many others. We are persistent in pursuing goals in order to create an environment that leads to positive outcomes. In our case, this is in the interest of business, whose success benefits everyone—the state as well as its citizens. Therefore, this is also a message that such an approach should be applied not only by institutions and the state, but also by every individual within them.
Together with my colleagues, Daniela and Natasha, we have done our utmost in this publication to analyze precisely those things that at first glance may appear impossible. How you will perceive them after reading the book is left to you.
We created this project—which includes not only a book but also accompanying video material—with dedication, passion, and respect for the profession and the institution in which we work. We used everything at our disposal: experience, documents, memories, artificial intelligence, digital skills, green energy, the circular economy, and even “linear geography.” We are proud of the contribution this work represents.
P.S. Special thanks to everyone who participated in this unique project—to the businesspeople who, on a daily basis, contribute and initiate new proposals, ideas, and viewpoints; to the domestic and international experts who offered their perspectives on the positions advocated by the Economic Chamber throughout the years; to the journalists who selflessly support us as we work together toward a better future; to Kumov Production, which, through the latest technological solutions (3D animation and artificial intelligence), produced a documentary video series illustrating how the country might have looked had some of the Chamber’s proposals been adopted; and to the Chamber’s employees, who continuously work together to ensure that business initiatives achieve tangible outcomes.
We offer our sincere apologies to anyone who may feel affected by the observations and conclusions presented in the book. At the same time, we make a promise: through this rhetorical book, we are opening new pages and stand ready to contribute collectively to the country’s development, to transform ourselves, and to adapt to the new times—times in which vanity will be forgotten and responsibility brought to the forefront.
And let everything applied in this project—both in the book and in the AI-generated and 3D-animated video production—serve as a challenge and inspiration to all.
