Following the successful Japanese-Macedonian Business Forum held on 12 March in Skopje, a series of follow-up activities and initiatives have been implemented to strengthen economic relations between North Macedonia and Japan, with a focus on deepening cooperation and opening new opportunities for business partnerships.
On 23 April, a meeting was held at the Embassy of Japan with the company Native Teams, represented by Simona Aleksovska, Business Director, and Antoneta Manova-Stavreska, Project Manager at the Chamber. The meeting was part of the embassy’s ongoing efforts to support Macedonian businesses and enhance cooperation with members of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia. During the meeting, H.E. Ambassador Setsuko Kawahara was introduced to the company’s operations, its global expansion, and the extension of its activities in Tokyo since 2024.
Ambassador Kawahara emphasized that such meetings serve as an important platform for connecting companies from both countries and identifying new opportunities for cooperation, noting that interest among Japanese companies in the region and in the potential of the Macedonian economy is on the rise.
Native Teams, a member of the Chamber, is a global platform that enables companies to seamlessly hire, manage, and pay employees worldwide without the need to establish local legal entities. By integrating payroll, compliance, and employment services into a single solution, it simplifies international operations and supports remote teams.
Founded in North Macedonia, with a strong presence in Skopje and operations in 85 countries, the company represents a notable regional tech success story. It offers an all-in-one solution for global employment (EOR), payroll, compliance, and the management of contracts and benefits, enabling businesses to hire talent globally in a simple and legally compliant manner.
The platform is used by startups, SMEs, freelancers, and digital nomads, with its core value centered on removing key barriers to international employment—legal complexity, payroll challenges, and compliance risks.
