In an interview for the program Topic of the Day on MTV, Björn Gabriel, representative of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in North Macedonia, highlighted the EIB’s activities in supporting the country’s green transition. Among other things, he referred to the first Decarbonization Guide for businesses, developed by the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia in cooperation with the EIB advisory team and the Delegation of the European Union.
“This guide comes at a crucial moment as North Macedonia is rapidly moving forward in its green transition and preparing for the introduction of new carbon-related regulations,” Gabriel stated. “We are very proud to help companies modernize their operations and to contribute to sustainable transformation across the entire country.”
The purpose of the Guide is to enable companies to more easily reduce greenhouse-gas emissions. Its central tool is an advanced carbon-footprint calculator that covers nearly 60 different energy sources and refrigerants. Additionally, it offers:
- an overview of current and future EU and national climate regulations;
- information on available financial instruments and subsidies;
- practical case studies and success stories from leading companies demonstrating the benefits of the transition to clean energy.
The Guide is available as an interactive online platform on the website of the Economic Chamber, at: https://decarbonisation.mchamber.mk/.
