- Trainings for professional and technical staff for installing photovoltaic systems and thermal collectors from June 2019

Starting from 17 June 2019, as part of the Project “Toward market-based skills for sustainable energy efficient construction” (TRAINEE), a training of professional and technical staff for installing photovoltaic systems and thermal collectors will be conducted. This was pointed out at the press conference held in the Economic Chamber of Macedonia (27/05/2019). The goal of the trainings is continuous improvement of the construction workers’ skills at constructing energy efficient buildings via training, requalification and recognition of previously acquired knowledge and skills, in order to meet the EU parameters from the “Strategy 2020” for energy efficiency.

One of the priorities of every national economy is to create preconditions for development of competitive workforce in all areas, one that is prepared to tackle the challenges of the modern economic flows. The activities in the scope of the TRAINEE project take the same direction: “Toward market-based skills for sustainable energy efficient construction.”

The Project will develop measures that are an upgrade to the already achieved results in the previous two projects - “Training construction workers in energy efficiency 2014-2016” and “Developing energy efficiency skills 2012-2013”, by preparing training schemes, expanding the trainings and requalification of the workforce (architects, construction engineers, technicians and construction workers) in order to meet the EU parameters from the “Strategy 2020” for energy efficiency, - pointed out Dr. Risto Ivanov, President of the Association of Business and Consultants “Creation”, partner in the TRAINEE Project.

The promotion of the skills of the construction professionals (architects, engineers and construction workers) will be achieved with 3 primary objectives, namely:

- Improving the skills of the construction professionals (construction workers, architects and engineers) at constructing energy efficient buildings;

- Application of tools for Building Information Modeling on national level;

- Increasing the market value of the skills at energy efficient construction.

In order to reach a multidiscipline approach to sustainable construction, the application of tool for Building Information Modeling will be initiated on a national level. Moreover, the Building Information Modeling will be introduced, which is one of the requirements of the new public procurement rules of the European Commission in the area of construction, highlighted Dr. Ivanov.

These skills need to be accepted on the part of all factors in the construction sector that apply renewable energy sources. Furthermore, the application of BIM will be introduced along with a register of trainers and construction workers for renewable energy sources.

With the trainings for renewable energy sources we will reach standards on energy efficiency, with the possibility to get the trainings accredited for professional and technical staff for installation of photovoltaic systems and thermal collectors, indicated Prof. Dr. Hristina Spasevska, President of the Engineering Institution of Macedonia (IIM) and professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies within the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University – Skopje.

The trainings are expected to cover subjects from safety at work of engineers, technicians, designers and construction worker, design of new technologies and development to application of software solutions, - added Prof. Dr. Spasevska.

The Energy Association within the Economic Chamber of Macedonia will actively participate in the development of trainings for workers and engineers related to installment of photovoltaics in the scope of the Project, with the aim of training staff that can respond to the increasing interest in utilization of energy produced from renewable energy sources, - stated Dr. Risto Janevski, president of the Energy Association within the Economic Chamber of Macedonia.

The project activities are conducted by the Economic Chamber of Macedonia, as coordinator, in partnership with: the Association of Business and Consultants "Creation", the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies within the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University – Skopje, the Public Institution Adult Education Center – Skopje (COV), the Engineering Institution of Macedonia (IIM) and the WITS INSTITUTE SL (BIM Academy) from Spain.

This Project is part of the Work Program for “Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy”, under the call for “Energy Efficiency” EE-2016-2017 aimed at increasing the energy efficiency in construction.
