FIC President Mr. Stefan Peter one of the panelist on the first Skopje Economic Forum

"Skopje Economic Forum" was held today (23 June 2021) at the Alexander Palace Hotel in Skopje, where several panel debates were dedicated to stability and cooperation in the Balkan region, the country's economic development after the pandemic, competitiveness, financing and regulatory frameworks for businesses and to the foreign investments.

The forum, which was officially opened by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, also debated infrastructure, energy, tourism, smart cities and sustainable development.

Mr. Stefan Peter President of the Foreign Investors Council was one of the participants on the Skopje Economic Forum debating on a panel session: North Macedonia’s Economic Recovery Post Pandemic.

Following a historic recession in the region in 2020, can the pandemic fully derail North Macedonia’s steady trajectory of growth and falling unemployment of the last decade? What steps need to be taken for a robust recovery?

Over this topics, along with the FIC President discussed Fatmir Bytyqi, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of North, Fatmir Besimi, Minister of Finance, Anita Angelovska Bezhoska, Governor of the National Bank and Zoran Jovanovski Vice President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia.
