According to the annual commercial consumption of 100 million litters’ cow milk and milk processing per year, and in purchase of 100 to 110 million litters raw milk from local farmers, the basic market aggregates on domestic market of this product are levelled.  The Association of Agriculture and Food Industry within the Economic Chamber of Macedonia considers that the market disruption is caused by the import of milk and dairy products.

Having into consideration the free trade agreements, the import is free and it isn’t debatable. Debatable are the conditioned price disparities among the intervention price and market price in the country, as a result of unfair competition from import, mostly by subventions in production from the export country.

The Association of Agriculture and Food Industry   the milk crises problem isn’t located in existence and non-existence of more dairy plant or dairy farmers in the country, but from the need of including the raw milk price pursuant to the region’s market prices. In that context, the Association indicates to the need of direct support to the farmers, that would provide their higher income.
